Frozen Baked Cape Malay Bollas

Our frozen baked Cape Malay bollas are soft, flavourful bread rolls inspired by traditional Cape Malay baking. Freshly baked and then frozen to preserve taste and texture, they are perfect for quick reheating at home. Enjoy them warm as a side, snack, or part of a meal, offering comforting, authentic flavour with convenient freezer-ready freshness.

Our frozen bollas can be made easily by using your microwave. Here’s how!

1. Keep them in the bag and place them in the microwave.
2. Heat them for 15 to 60 seconds until soft. During the heating process, check the bollas if they are soft by pressing them through the plastic. They could be soft before you reach 60 seconds.
3. Prepare a sugar syrup by combining 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water.
4. Add the sugar syrup to boil on your stove until dissolved and slightly sticky.
5. Remove your bollas from the bag and place them into the sugar syrup whilst on the stove. Toss the bollas to get them all coated with the syrup.
6. Once they are all coated, remove the bollas from the syrup and dust them with cinnamon.
7. Enjoy them with your favourite tea time drinks.
